Dedication of the Veterans Tribute Memorial, June 25, 2016.
A dedication ceremony was held at the Veterans' Tribute Memorial on Saturday, June 25, 2016 (the 66th anniversary of the beginning of the Korean War). The event was attended by more than 150 people including Veterans from WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan.
Riders from the Oregon Veterans Motorcycle Association staged their cycles off-site and made their entrance at the beginning of the event. The Honor Guard was provided by the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde. Boy Scout Troop 215 raised the national colors. Mayor Harry Cooley made opening remarks. County Commissioner Stan Primozich and Oregon Veterans Motorcycle Association representative Bob Lambert also made remarks.
Representatives from the Oregon Veterans Motorcycle Association placed flowers on the memorial at the close of the ceremony.
