Public Works

The Public Works Department is responsible for the water system, the waste water system, parks, streets, storm drainage, and the maintenance of City buildings.

The Department is located at 358 NW Washington Street. The telephone number is 503-843-2660.

As part of their overall responsibilities, the Public Works Department oversees infrastructure planning. Attached are the executive summaries of plans that relate to water and sewer.

Water is a valuable commodity in this area and will likely be more scarce in the future. Yamhill County organized a Water Resources Task Force to study the problem of water sources and supply within the County. The study looks at municipal water resources and needs from the present to the year 2050. A copy of their initial report is attached.

Backflow Prevention Devices are mandatory on some buildings or activities that use the City's water system.  Attached is a two-page document about the devices.
